The drastic development and innovation in the field of technology paved the way to a digitalized mode of living. This way of life was the main theme for the talk in the III session held in SCMS Cochin School of Business on January 13, 2017.

SCMS Cochin family was delighted to hear the insights from the speaker of the day, an accomplished young manager and the present Vice-President-Sales, IDEA Kerala, Mr. Solomon Mathews, on topics like smart phones, the digital way of life and the constant innovations that are happening in the field of technology.

There was an age when we used to go behind the big screens and TV screens, and now it is the time of transformation. We look for technologies that make our life comfortable and colorful. The immense possibilities in the digital world was brought before the audience of SCMS Cochin by Mr. Solomon Mathews- giving thrust to the digital way of life by the transformation of all sources of media to small screens.

Statistics shows that, as we move from 2014 to 2020, the penetration of smart phones will increase from 20% to 50%. It is predicted that, by 2020 the number of smart phone users will reach 520 million, 55% of the users will be from rural areas, it will gain 55% of total gaming market share and 60% share of web traffic.

The vision of Digitalizing India will be possible only by the device that lies in the palm of our arm. The telecom industry in India is capital intensive, and it is greater than GDPs of Malta, Madagascar and Maldives.

The following six forces will direct us to digital future.
